Silverstone: the original and many would say best Formula One world championship circuit. The first Championship race here in 1950 was on quite a different Silverstone which had only 8 corners, though the track is as then still based primarily based on the access roads for the Airfield that was here before. The most recent changes were in 2010 with a whole new infield section that got a good response in its first two races.

Though Silverstone isn’t right near any cities it isn’t so far from London that you couldn’t combine a trip and there are interesting towns and cities nearby including Historic Oxford, Warwick, Buckingham and Northampton as well as new town Milton Keynes.
